Research Experience:

Schaefer Ichthyology Lab (3 years)

            Undergraduate Research Assistant

I was involved in measuring the phenotypes of topminnows from a hybrid zone, field work collecting environmental data and specimens in salt marshes, and in my own research on catfish body size evolution.

​

Piller Ichthyology Lab (2 years)

            Graduate Teaching Assistant

I worked on my thesis studying the phylogeography and population genetics of endangered springfish and poolfish populations in the Great Basin of Nevada. I analyzed mitochondrial and nuclear genes, and utilized SNPs for population genetics analysis.

 

Teaching Experience and Community Service:

  • The University of Southern Mississippi

Instructor and teaching assistant for Biology Lab for Non-majors (4 Semesters)

        Prepped the lab, administered lectures and quizzes, graded material, and tutored Undergraduates in General Biology.

                       

Assistant to the head director during USM Summer Biology camp

        Helped organize, supply, and watch students during camps in the summer of 2014.

                       

Aquarium Manager (4 Semesters)

        Stocked, cleaned, and started aquariums for the Biology Museum
